Spoons: Energy Planner

Plan your day in spoons

Spoon theory was named by Christine Miserandino, who used a handful of spoons to explain to a friend what living with lupus felt like. Every task costs a spoon. You only get so many in a day. When they're gone, you're done.

Spoons turns that idea into a planner.

Each morning, you tell the app how many spoons you have today. Tasks are rated 1 to 5 based on how much energy they take. Then you place them — by hand, not by algorithm — into six honest buckets:

• Today
• Tomorrow
• Next Day
• Soon
• Someday
• On Hold

Each bucket has a spoon cap. When you try to overcommit, Spoons gently pushes back: rebalance, or accept that today is a bigger day than usual. At midnight, anything you didn't get to rolls forward. No guilt. No streaks. No shame.

WHY SPOONS IS DIFFERENT

• Manual placement. You decide where every task goes. No algorithm shuffles your day around behind your back.
• Honest caps. Buckets show "3 / 5 spoons used" so you can feel your day filling up before it's too late.
• Calm carryover. Yesterday's unfinished tasks roll forward automatically. Tick off anything you actually did and your rolling average updates.
• Built for low-energy days. One tap on Low Energy Mode hides everything that isn't Critical or High priority.
• Projects, tags, due dates, priorities. The planning fundamentals are all there — just lighter.
• Material Design 3 with light and dark themes that follow your system setting.
